A STRANGE SIGHT

They Had Never Seen a Hermetically Sealed Coffin Before

The arrival of the remains of Edward Soundstrom, the dead perfumer, in
Stockholm, was a genuine surprise to the Swedes.

The climate of that country is such that iron caskets are unknown, and the
idea of a coffin hermetically sealed was new and novel to them.

It will be remembered that the body of Mr. Soundstrom was embalmed by
Undertaker Frank X. Bliley, and kept in his office for seventy-five days.

He died during the summer and on November 29th his remains arrived in his
old home in Sweden.

The body being completely crystallized, and as white as chalk, made it a
surprise to the people of his old home, and they came from far and near to
look on his dead face, which was easily recognized on acount of the skill
of an American embalmer.

The body was laid to rest in the cemetery of his native city with great
ceremony, as he was quite a prominent man in his own country.
