Honble Robert Daniell A brave man who had long served King William in his wars both land and sea, and afterwards governed this province under the lords proprietors. He died on the first day of May in the year 1718. Aged 72 years. Here Also war Buried the Body of Martha Logan Who was first the wife of the above Robert Daniell, and afterwards of Colonel George Logan. She died on the 5th day of November in the year 1742. Aged 58 years. This vault also contains the body of the above Colonel George Logan Of His Majesty's Army, And also the bodies of his son George Logan And his son's wife Martha Who was the daughter of the Honble Robert Daniell. |

Edward Rutledge, Esq. Late Governor of this state whom it pleased the Almighty to take from this life Jany 23rd, 1800 at the age of fifty years and two months. The virtues of this eminent citizen require not the aid of an inscription here to recall them to our recollection, it is believed that they are engraven on the hearts, and will long live in the remembrance of his countrymen. She was most loved, where best known may her piety & her virtues be remembered, though her example can be no longer enjoyed. |
![]() This marble marks the spot where repose the remains of Mrs. Eliza B. R. Mendenhall Who closed her earthly career on the 29th December A.D. 1848, aged 67 years. By her side sleeps her infant grandson John Bruce Limehouse "Thou art gone to the grave, but we will not deplore thee whose God was thy ransom, they Guardian and Guide. He gave thee, He took thee and He will restore thee, and death has no sting for the Savior hath died." This stone is consecrated to a beloved mother by her daughter. |

Col. William Rhett Late of this parish, Principall Officer of His Majesties Customs in this province. He was a person that on all occasions promoted the publick good of this colony, and severall times generously and successfully centured his life in defense of the same. He was a kind husband, a tender father, a faithful friend, a charitable neighbor, a religious constant worshipper of God. He was born in London 4th Sept 1666, Arrived and settled this country 19th Novembr 1694, And dyed suddenly but not unprepared 12 Janry 1722, In the fifty-seventh year of his age. |
